The BCAMA Board of Directors is made up of a group of volunteers who take on portfolios above and beyond what they do in their own careers. With the fast pace and continuously changing market trends, careers and personal life are often demanding enough, without adding to the mix. Kim Breakell Mech – President (Interim)

Kim is a seasoned marketer and has enjoyed more than 25 years in B2C and B2B marketing throughout North America and globally on both the client side and agency side. She has spent the past 2 years as the President of the BCAMA, guiding a talented board through a restructuring and was the catalyst behind the merger with the Association of Integrated Marketers (AIM). Prior to that, she was the Director, Senior Executive Program.
Her marketing experience spans the financial services sector (Central 1 & HSBC Bank Canada); telecommunications (Stentor Resource Centre & Bell Canada); technology (Central 1, Eyeball Networks & Cinax Designs); tourism (Destination Canada & Air Canada) and package goods (Alberto Culver, Thomas J Lipton), where she combines her marketing experience and business acumen across a wide range of businesses.
Andrew Sharpe – President Elect

Andrew Sharpe is the founder & Chief Storytelling Officer for BRANDSPANK Retailer Marketing-an agency that specializes in user-experience & consumer engagement for bricks & mortar retailers.
A self-described retail marketing insight-er, Andrew is also a regular blog contributor to influential sites such as Retail Customer Experience. He’s also been a regular on-air guest on both CBC and Global News, for retail and marketing related topics.
For over 20 years (including working client-side as interim Director of Marketing with a national franchised company), Andrew has been instrumental at developing brand strategies and creating compelling stories for dozens of regional, national and international retail organizations. Prior to launching his own agency, Andrew also exercised the other side of his brain a freelance copywriter for almost 5 years at various boutique and multinational agencies throughout the city.

The Treasurer is a key member of the BCAMA board and executive ensuring responsible stewardship of BCAMA funds and that all accounting is conducted within Canadian accounting standards. The treasurer sits on the Executive committee alongside the President, Immediate Past President, President-Elect and Vice President and reports directly to the President. The individual in this role must hold a CPA designation.
Lauren Isaacson – Vice President Elect

Lauren Isaacson is the director of Curio Research. She is an American ex-pat from sunny Los Angeles, living in rainy Vancouver, British Columbia. It’s okay, she doesn’t mind the wet.
She earned her MBA in 2002 from Pepperdine University and soon after discovered a talent and passion for qualitative and quantitative research as an Account Planner at interactive ad agencies in LA. Currently, Lauren is a market and user research consultant using her qual and quant skills to help agencies and organizations improve their understanding and the experiences of their customers and employees.
During her career Lauren has worked on new product launches for automotive brands, UX research and testing for software companies, customer satisfaction measurement for national organizations, exploratory research for major website redesigns, qualitative employee experience audits, and many other interesting and high stakes research and analysis projects.
Lauren brings her expertise in market research, user experience research, and data analysis to every project and focuses on delivering actionable insights to her clients and stakeholders.
Regina Leung – Director at Large

With over 15 years of experience in the software industry working for numerous companies, Regina is skilled in digital branding, clients and sales development, capital development, project management, product analysis and the development of service solutions. She currently acts as an independent consultant for emerging software companies and is also the operating partner of Global Recycling, an international trade organization that facilitates digital trading in recyclable materials. Regina is responsible for its client and sales development, internal/external trading strategies and the implementation of digital business and marketing strategies targeting North America and Asia. Through her experiences, she has developed an assertive, people-oriented approach complemented by strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Regina holds a B.Sc. in Business from University of Minnesota where she specialized in strategic management and corporate communications.
Nick Sywulych – Director of Senior Executive Program
Nick Sywulych is the Director, Marketing at Pacific Blue Cross. Prior to joining Pacific Blue Cross, he was the Director of Retention Marketing at the British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA), with responsibility for Membership, Insurance, Evo Car Share and Auto Service Centre retention, the partner loyalty program, and growing products per household.
Nick’s greatest strengths are his creativity, passion and leadership. He thrives on challenges, particularly those that send others screaming and running out of the building. With over 15 years of experience he has worked in all areas of marketing, and is known for his ability to think strategically while delivering flawless tactical execution. He has managed large marketing teams, agency relationships and budgets both within British Columbia and across Canada.
Nick is a collaborative leader that works to deliver an amazing customer experience. He was awarded Leadership in Action awards at both Rogers and BCAA. He has worked on several award winning campaigns and was part of the 2002 Rogers team that won the BC AMA Marketer of the Year. Nick served on committees that brought Vancouver the first Rogers Santa Claus Parade as well as the Sports Celebrities Festival gala supporting Special Olympics BC and the Canucks for Kids Fund.

Andrea Eby – Director of Vision

Andrea Eby is a Marketing instructor and Convenor in the School of Business at Capilano University. Andrea also works with the AMA and BCAMA as a judge and is faculty advisor for the student Marketing Association as well as coach for student case competitions. Accolades include: American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference 2016 – four awards, Western Canadian Business Competition March 2015- winner.
Andrea’s work experience spans three continents and covers a variety of sectors including consumer packaged goods, sports, events, and not for profit. She has managed national brand portfolios at Consumer Packaged Goods Companies including: Ault Foods, Cadbury, and Schering Plough. Andrea’s sport event experience includes the Vancouver International Marathon Society, Ironman Japan, World Indoor Track and Field Championships, and two Winter Olympics (Nagano Japan, and VANOC) She serves on the board of Directors of several not-for-profit organizations and is also involved at the community level as a group fitness and spin instructor.

Nicola Poskitt, Co-Director of Membership Development

After several years at Cossette, Nicola joined the Will team in 2015, and has enjoyed watching its growth in both size and areas of expertise. Jennifer Wheeler is currently the Marketing and Advertising Specialist for the Vancouver Art Gallery since 2011. In this position, Jennifer has worked on a variety campaigns for leading exhibitions, events and programs and sees projects through from concept and planning to actualization in the digital and outdoor marketplace. From 2005 – 2011 Jennifer worked in hotel and luxury villa rental sales with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Fairmont Hotels, and Luxury Retreats International.
Previously, she attended Ryerson University for a Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minor in marketing. The Director of Business development builds community relationships with potential sponsors and partner organizations. Responsible for bringing new business (cash and contra into the board both annually and for the events). Liaises with board members to extract new opportunities, with the Director Partnerships to seek out opportunities with existing members. Oversees team of two support roles.

Andre Bussanich – Director of Creative

His diverse 20 years of industry experience ranges from directing and creating digital interactive exhibits for Museums and large public spaces to marketing/advertising, illustration and film/animation direction. He has worked with the biggest cultural exhibit planners and fabricators in North America in the exhibit space. In the marketing space, he’s designed for Best Buy, McDonald’s, Ronald McDonald House, BC Cancer Agency, Never Stop. Milk and Oakridge Centre. Andre currently holds the position of Creative Team Lead at Central 1 Credit Union Marketing and Research department and sits on the board of BCAMA as creative director.
Dee Unal – Director of Marketing & Communications

Dee works as a Marketing Consultant at MatchBox, a Vancouver based professional services company. She has over 15 years of B2B and B2C MarCom experience gained through living and working at global markets including EMEA, Asia Pacific and North America. Ryan Hoye – Director Information Technology

Jon Malach – Director of Experiential

As the CEO of NativeAds.com, Jon has been assisting brands to tell stories online through native advertorial content and video. The definition of “Native” in advertising means to fit the form and function of the environment, where the advertisement itself can stand on its own and offer a value to the consumer. Jon has embraced out of the box approaches to campaign design, he was early to employ both Augmented and Virtual Reality as mediums for online storytelling and onsite activations. He sees the XM event as a great opportunity to further harvest early adopters who push the limits of both technology and creativity to deliver truly immersive brand experiences. When asked to describe what differentiates the XM event he is directing in June of 2017, Jon explains “Most events tend to review existing best practices, with the XM event we are too busy creating new ones”
Jon is an avid Martial Artist and enjoys applying the principles such as to lead by example in his professional career in order to inspire others to reach their full potential. Jon also moonlighted as a DJ for over 15 years, playing under the alias “JIAL-14” for various radio stations and night clubs.
