Have the constant changes in today’s marketing industry forced your organization to reassess your overall marketing strategies, as well as how the senior marketer’s role is evolving and impacting marketers at all levels? In order to adapt to big data, digital media, the land of social, paid, owned, and earned media, and so on, the role of the senior marketer must evolve, but how?
In advance of the event, we are asked the panelists some “get to know you” questions. First up is Monique Gomel, Vice President, Marketing for Earls Restaurants.
1) What social media online tool do you enjoy using?
I enjoy using Hootsuite. At Earls, it enable us to listen & engage in conversations about our brand, streamline content management of over 60 different local Facebook pages and multiple twitter accounts, and track the effectiveness and reach of our promotions.
2) What is your favourite ad campaign (digital, print or tv) and provide the ad or video if possible?
Oreo’s Daily Twist campaign is one of the most impressive campaigns I’ve seen recently. Each morning, over 100 days in 2012, trending news stories were given a playful OREO twist, and sent out through all of their social channels #DailyTwist hash tag. It was a creative way to breathe new life and increase the relevancy of a 100 year old brand. It was also extremely effective growing their face book fan base by 1 million fans and receiving millions of exposures.
3) What motivates you to stay ahead of the game?
The desire to do things differently, experiment with new ideas & technologies, and a healthy dose of competition.
4) They say breakfast food fuels your brain. What is your favourite breakfast food?
Green smoothies on weekdays, greasy brunch on weekends.
