How to Stand Out from the Crowd

We all bring a unique value to this world that we should be shouting about. We are paid to do exactly this for the brands we work on every day. Yet, often, when it comes to our own individual brand, we can fall short and get lost in the field of black and white cows.

In the run-up to the April 30th Evening Speaker Series, we thought we’d give you a bit of a sneak peek into the lives of the panelists. First up is Anne Farrer, Vice-President and Managing Director of the Karo Group.

Q. What do you most value in your colleagues?

I value the ability to see the big picture, meaning how everything connects. That helps us look ahead to plan strategy, and to avoid concerns with our customers.

Q. If you were to change something about yourself, what would it be?

I’m definitely a worrier. I often lay awake at night sorting through what could or should have been done differently. It doesn’t help with getting that ‘rested’ look.

Q. What is the first thing people notice about you?

Well, I’m pretty short, and I’ve been told I smile a lot.

Q. What talent would you most like to have?

More discipline/less procrastination! And it would be also nice to fly!

Q. What is your greatest fear?

In a business sense – that I will never feel like ‘it’ is enough.

Q. Start early, or stay late?

Stay late.

Q. What’s for lunch?
