Social Marketing is approaching 40 years of existence. Many of these social marketing principles have been utilized by BC Hydro Power Smart to successfully impact buying behaviours around energy using technologies.
Now with much larger conservation targets, BC Hydro is beginning to focus on impacting values and social norms with the long-term goal of creating a "conservation movement" where British Columbians make energy efficient decisions in all aspects of their life at home and work.
Attendees will learn about these social marketing frameworks and how to apply them to their cause-based marketing activities as well as for-profit product and service based marketing.
