As Engine Digital’s Vice President of Client Engagement, Dean’s primary responsibility is to ensure an overall healthy working business relationship between the agency and their client partners. He is actively focused on building key relationships with VPs and C-level executives in North America, providing strategic counsel on digital business growth opportunities. His strength is helping marketers effectively apply traditional brand strategies to the digital space across web, mobile and social platforms. Dean is a frequent contributor and speaker at various digital marketing industry events in the US and Canada.
Previously, Dean developed his brand and digital marketing strategy expertise over an 18-year period, working within global network agencies including DDB, Publicis, BBDO, JWT and Saatchi & Saatchi.
Owner & Managing Partner, Pound & Grain
Sandy is Owner and Managing Partner at Pound & Grain, a digital creative agency, where he oversees client strategy and agency growth. Previously, as Senior Vice President and Managing Partner at Dare, the UK’s Digital Agency of the Decade, Sandy, along with his business partner, was responsible for launching Dare in North America and ran their West Coast operations. Prior to Dare, Sandy was General Manager of Fjord West, a digital marketing agency that, under his vision and management, grew into one of Canada’s largest digital agencies and a top performer in Cossette’s global network.
Sandy has overseen digital marketing engagements for clients like TELUS, McDonalds, SAP, AT&T, Electronic Arts, Sony Ericsson, Diageo, MEC and Nintendo.
Sandy’s career has coincided with the commercialization of the Internet. In 1996, Sandy co-founded Peachtree Network, one of the first online grocery shopping networks, which went public in 2000.
Sandy currently sits on the board of DigiBC, a non-profit organization with a mission to promote, support and accelerate the growth, competitiveness and sustainability of British Columbia’s digital media and wireless industry. He is also an active member of the Society of Digital Agencies.
Vice President Strategy, Blast Radius
John is a seasoned brand strategist and digital thinker with a passion for bringing new and powerful ideas into the world. He leads the strategic planning group at Blast Radius in Vancouver, where he’s spent the past nine years helping brands like Nike, Starbucks and Microsoft connect and engage with consumers through apps, campaigns, content, services, sites, social media and more. John is driven by a desire to rethink and reinvent brand marketing for a digital world. Prior to his career in digital marketing, he was a musician and songwriter who toured the continent as one quarter of the Juno-nominated Vancouver band, Pluto.
President and Founding Partner, Cardinal Path
For more than 12 years, John has worked with companies both large and small to help them improve the performance of their online channels. John’s passions and much of his time are spent focusing on analytics, usability and conversion testing with the goal of improving user experience and business conversion rates. He has presented at the eMetrics Summit in Toronto, SMX Toronto, numerous Web Analytics Association events, and the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Internet Marketing Conference in Vancouver, as well as numerous webinars including those of the American Marketing Association.
John is a Founding Partner and COO at Cardinal Path, a performance optimization firm, and is Past President of the International Internet Marketing Association. Prior to getting involved with the web, John was a Treasury Manager and currency trader.
President, Graphically Speaking & Past President, BCAMA
Darrell is the president and founder of Graphically Speaking, the second largest web design and development company in the Greater Vancouver area. The majority of his day is spent supporting the team of 50 professional web development specialists that Graphically Speaking employs. In addition, he is heavily involved in business strategy, new service offerings and marketing. Occasionally the team lets him work on usability and internet marketing, which is something he is passionate about.
Darrell is a Past President of the BCAMA and Chair of the Judging Committee for Marketer of the Year. Prior to founding Graphically Speaking, Darrell was involved with two research and technology companies that played a pivotal role in the evolution of the internet. First, he worked with AEL Microtel/Microtel Pacific Research, a joint partnership between BC Tel and GTE Telephone, and later with Rogers Cable’s research and technology division, Cableshare.
Principal, Chow Communications
Emily is the Principal of Chow Communications, a Vancouver-based marketing and business training agency. As a marketing consultant, speaker and trainer, Emily specializes in helping owners of small- and medium-sized businesses turn casual web visitors into committed buyers through strategic online marketing tactics (SEO, content creation, social media) and traditional marketing tools (branding, marketing materials).
