Management of Change: Is it on your Senior Marketer Agenda?

Today, the Management of Change and Change Management are topics on every senior marketing executive's agenda. Great entrepreneurs such as J.P. Morgan and Henry Ford were talking of the inevitability of change and the need to manage it more than a century ago. But today's marketers need to understand change and to manage it more than ever.

Internationally acclaimed Professor Leyland Pitt of Simon Fraser University will argue that marketers may need to seriously think about changing some of their long held, much loved beliefs. They need to question some of the academic marketing teachings such as:

  • Marketers must identify customers' needs and design offerings to meet those needs.
  • Marketing communications must inform the customer and make markets more efficient.
  • Customers want more choice and they want relationships with organizations.
Professor Pitt will argue that marketing is inherently paradoxical and ambiguous. And yet it is always better to be explicit and honest rather than sell consumers a lie they don't buy as opposed to offering a marketing pitch that we believe the customers want to hear.

This presentation is a must for all senior marketers who are looking for insights on how to manage change as their own senior marketing role evolves.
