Breaking through the surface and generating buzz are essential in today’s cluttered marketplace. No one knows this best than a Vancouver-based agency that has built their national business on buzz-building and press-generating tactics to engage the consumer. Presenting is Claire Lamont, Creative Director of Smak. This intrepid problem solver gets her kicks out of turning visionary marketing dreams into tangible street-wise reality. Smak has succeeded in the areas of marketing communications in creating campaigns with a twist and Claire will share a few key case studies on the subject.
Smak is a four-year old non-traditional marketing agency with offices in Vancouver and Toronto. Offering expertise in guerilla marketing, ambient/place-based media, publicity stunts and public relations, Smak works in tandem with ad agencies, media buying houses, public relations agencies and clients direct to create edgy and memorable non-traditional campaigns.
Claire Lamont created non-traditional marketing agency Smak with partner Alan Bedingfield in 2003. From the beginning she has directed the company’s creative forces in developing attention-grabbing campaigns for Smak’s clients. Over the past few years, she has led efforts for such clients as Future Shop, BC Lottery Corporation, TELUS, and Subaru to name a few. Prior to Smak, Claire held marketing positions in-house at Stella Glass Assemblies and at agencies in Vancouver and South Africa.
