What is the Marketer of the Year Award?
One of BC's most prestigious marketing awards, MOY is the highest award given by the BC Chapter of the American Marketing Association (BCAMA). It is awarded to a company who has implemented exceptional marketing strategies and has shown outstanding results in the marketplace.

When Was The First Marketer Of The Year Awarded?
It was awarded in 1971 to the Nissan Automobile Company. The event was a formal evening held in the ballroom at the Hotel Vancouver with an actual Datsun Car as the centerpiece.

How Are The Companies Selected For Marketer Of The Year?
Nominations for this award are solicited from throughout the marketing community and are reviewed on the following criteria:

  • Effective application of marketing principles
  • Planning, development and execution of successful marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated results in the marketplace
  • Maintains a marketing office in British Columbia

From these nominations, the selection committee narrows the field to three finalists. The BCAMA Selection Committee represent the marketing community - past winners, agency and media representatives and key industry people who have the knowledge and background to select the BCAMA Marketer of the Year. These finalists prepare a comprehensive submission focused on the areas of Planning, Strategy, Execution and Results. From these three submissions, our esteemed Selection Committee chooses the next BCAMA Marketer of the Year.
