Director of Communications
Time Requirements – 3 to 6 hours a week
Start Date – Immediately
Term – 2 years
The director of communications plays a key role as a member of the BCAMA board, responsible for leading integrated communications strategies and campaigns for all aspects of the organization.

Responsibilities include
- Responsible for creating and implementing integrated communications strategies that drive awareness, promotion and revenue for individual events and the BCAMA.
- Maintain Brand identity, standards and practices organization-wide.
- Development of key messages for all audiences to communicate our core brand identity.
- Lead agency or record and internal team members where appropriate to execute all communication activities and public relations, email marketing, direct marketing, website and collateral.
- Oversee the writing of press releases, copy for marketing materials, advertisements, and other related material.
- Work closely with the Web Director to ensure messaging is consistent with overall marketing and communication objectives; deliver weekly email communications.
- Work closely with all Programming Directors and Sponsorship to ensure all key messages are developed and delivered.
- Build and manage a communications committee (team of volunteers) and assign tasks accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure proper messaging.
- Develop and manage the communications budget.
Requirements
- A member of the BCAMA
- Excellent communications and copy writing skills
- Ability to think creatively
- Proactively coordinate all event communications and press releases in a timely manner.
Director of Marketline Magazine and Blog
Time Requirements – 4 to 6 hours a week
Start Date – Immediately
Term – 2 years
The director of communications plays a key role as a member of the BCAMA board, responsible for managing the planning, production and delivery of the BCAMA Marketline Magazine spring and fall issues and the ongoing coordinator of the BCAMA Marketline Blog.

Responsibilities include
- Plan each print issue of Marketline: it’s theme, editorial, and advertising for approximately 32 pages of content.
- Work with event speakers, social media director, and communication director to identify potential editorial opportunities throughout the year.
- Work with BCAMA creative designer and printers to develop an appropriate work back schedule
- Collect content for each Fall and Spring issue of Marketline. Content includes: Articles from the BCAMA Board of Directors, 3rd party contributors, sponsors, advertising, and upcoming events.
- Liaise with printing and mailing house sponsors to schedule timely delivery of magazines at Marketer of Year Gala and Vision Conference.
- Develop and manage budget.
- Coordinate the collection of articles from the marketing community for the BCAMA Blog. Articles include member spotlights, upcoming posts from event speakers and experts.
Requirements
- A member of the BCAMA
- Solid project management skills of publications
- Excellent communications skills and comfortable proactively approaching and engaging editorial contributors
- Editorial and publications experience
- Blogging experience
Director of Collegiate
Time Requirements – 3 to 5 hours a week
Start Date – Immediately
Term – 2 years
The director of collegiate plays a key role as a member of the BCAMA board, responsible for driving student member involvement, acquisition, and retention and supporting affiliated collegiate chapters in British Columbia.

Responsibilities include
- Responsible for creating and implementing strategies that increase perceived value for collegiate students
- Create excitement and build interest in the collegiate membership and expand the collegiate offering to other post secondary institutions
- Act as the liaison between the board and the collegiate chapters for events, information on getting involved
- Develop the collegiate chapter scholarship for 2012-13
- Ensure that all collegiate chapters are following the international rules and regulations for collegiate status
Requirements
- A member of the BCAMA
- Excellent communications skills
- Know what it means to ‘be a student’ and have the ability to relate to the student needs and wants in their collegiate chapters
- Self starter with a positive, outgoing and energetic attitude
- Comfortable proactively approaching and engaging collegiate student members
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and open communications with board members and potential committee members
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
