Liesel Unger

Director, Mentorship Program

Liesel Unger is a born and bred Vancouverite with a substantial career in advertising/media/marketing. She got her start with a local community newspaper network before moving on to broadcast and digital media at CBC and then ultimately to Canada’s largest media company, Bell Media. With over 15 years in sales and marketing at Bell, leading a National team responsible for all platforms, she has worked with some of the largest brands in Canada. Helping bring brands to life and see companies grow by offering unique, creative and data driven solutions is her passion. Liesel is a dynamic and results driven leader that likes to roll up her sleeves and get into the trenches with her team and never one to give up if a solution can be found. One area of keen interest is that of mentorship. The key to growth is through learning and coaching. She has worked with the WCT-FCT (Women in Communications and Technology) as a mentor for the past two years as well as various student mentorship programs and events through media industry organizations (NABS and ABCOM) with BCIT and KPU as well as several internal leadership and coaching programs through Bell. It is this interest that brings her to the BCAMA as Director, Mentorships. Outside of work, Liesel enjoys keeping active through anything outdoors! She is an avid traveller but still has several places to check off the bucket list. She is a mother of two and a serious animal lover. Life balance is key; work hard and play hard and wake up thankful every day.
